All About Cisco Exams
Cisco Systems, Inc. is one of world's leaders in network equipment and software production. In 1997 Cisco has established The Cisco Networking Academy Program, which offers a wide range of courses in networking. Cisco also offers worldwide recognized certificates to its students who passed one or more Cisco Exams. There are three levels of Cisco Certificates: Associate, Professional and Expert. In order to obtain a Cisco Certificate you must pass a certain Cisco Exam. Every Cisco Exam has its specific number, which may be changed when the curriculum is modified. In order to take a Cisco Exam you must execute several steps. First of all you must register online and create your own account. After that you must find a Cisco authorized test delivery partner (Pearson VUE or Prometric) in your area. The Cisco Network Academy has representative in over 150 countries throughout the world, so you may easily find a location available in your area for taking your Cisco Exam. You must contact your local authorized test delivery partner and register for your Cisco Exam, offering such information as the name and the number of the Cisco Exam you want to take, your legal name, passport number, company name, valid email address and method of payment. Payment for any online Cisco Exam is made directly to the authorized test delivery partner. If you have ever taken a Cisco Exam before, you have to locate your Cisco Certification ID, in order to avoid some problems such as duplicate schedule or delay in receiving credit for your Cisco Exam. You may schedule your Cisco Exam from the same day up to six weeks in advance, but it varies in different locations. If you failed your Cisco Exam you must wait for at least 5 calendar days before you can schedule the same Cisco Exam. Before taking any Cisco Exam you must also acknowledge the Cisco Career Certifications and Confidentiality Agreement. This can be done online at the authorized testing center. Without signing this agreement you cannot be officially certified. Each Cisco Exam is proctored and delivered in a secure environment. Usually a Cisco Exam takes one or two hours. Only Lab exams are full-day and typically last eight hours. Within 48 hours after the completion of your computer-based Cisco Exam you will receive a score report and the passing score for the given Cisco Exam. After you pass all the exams you will receive a Certificate in both electronic and printed versions, containing your Cisco Certification ID and valid certification dates. Any Cisco Exam is valid from two to three years, depending on Cisco Exam type. If you don't reconfirm your Cisco Exam before the established deadlines, you will lose all benefits and advantages offered by a Cisco Certificate. In order for your electronic certificates to reach you, you will have to wait 3-5 days and printed certificate you will receive by mail in 6-8 weeks. Passing a certain Cisco Exam will also allow you to use the appropriate Cisco Career Certifications logos. Before taking any Cisco Exam it is strongly recommended to familiarize with Certification Agreement and Cisco Exam Policies in order to avoid any Cisco Exam rules violation. |
